I offer a 1-year full-time research assistant position associated to the project “Habitability space for biodiversity: applying Liebig’s Law of the Minimum to global change biogeography (CM/JIN/2019-003)” funded by Comunidad de Madrid. The candidate will join the team of Dr. Sara Villén-Pérez at the Department of Life Sciences at Universidad de Alcalá, Spain.
Tasks: The project is related to species abundance patterns in space across environmental gradients, with focus on terrestrial taxa (plants, mammals, birds). The research assistant will get involved in data curation, data analysis, report writing and outreach. He/she will be also given the opportunity to participate in manuscript preparation and communication at scientific meetings.
Conditions: Annual gross salary of 26,848 € (ca. 1,680 €/ month net). Expected starting date: 01/05/2020. Duration: 12 months (with extension possibilities).
Requirements: BsC, MsC or PhD in biology, environmental sciences, ecology or related disciplines. Programming skills in R with emphasis in large datasets. Experience in GIS and management of spatial data. Advanced level of English.
